Is Wiggle still considered iffy?

Never had a problem with Wiggle. The only *potential* problem I've had is that they used to use normal postal delivery. Then for a while, stuff started being delivered by a courier. This is crap for me, as living in the sticks, if the courier calls & there's no one at home, I'd have a 50+ mile round trip to the courier depot to collect. Whereas with the normal post, it's an eight mile round trip to the post office to collect.

Yep that's a real problem with Wiggle, they use City Link around here and it's quite a trek for me to go their depot (and I live in North Manchester) nowehere near as handy as the PO.

That plus the fact the are lazy t**ers who often don't bother ringing the door bell but simply push a card through the letter box. Can't be arsed hanging around to see if someone answers.

Which on-line bike shops still use the PO?

That's really odd re the postage stuff as I was really peeved as I paid for special postage only for it to be sent through parcel force - when I emailed the guy (who was very very helpful throughout) he said that this was not specifically for couriers but was for the parcel to be despatched as a priority package. The only reason I didn't let Assos know they were selling dodgy stock was cause they guy was so helpful.

OK, OK, don't kick me when I'm down!

I'm sure it's personal Uncle Mort - you didn't look deserving enough....

IMO, Wiggle are not cheap. A shop around will always find a more competitive price. I tend to use PBK, Ribble and Parker in preference to Wiggle. But, I still buy the odd item from them and never had a problem with the credit card issue.

Wiggle weren't listed as an authorised dealer and when the parcel arrived the barcodes etc had been cut out so they were selling Assos items illlegitimately.

Not only does that surprise me greatly, more importantly, it's libellous!

Might I suggest you revise your wording?

Used wiggle loads of times without any problems and never ever had any sweets.

However I tend to use chain reaction more now as they are generally cheaper.

After using Wiggle for a number of years, I never got any sweeties, but it was only after moaning about that on a forum last year, that I got some in my next order. Spooky. Hopefully, you'll be lucky.

However, I agree that Chain Reaction now seem cheaper.

I use Wiggle quite regularly. Never had a problem with them, and was always quite suspicious when people who said they were iffy. They deliver quickly, and the prices aren't that bad... but I agree that it is quite possible to get better prices elsewhere.

But I've never had as much as a single free sodding jellybean out of them either!

email and mention it to them, it's worked for someone on here before now.

Never had a problem with Wiggle. ALways get some sweets (Haribo last time). Got the bottle opener years ago, still in regular use.

The whole "poor service" issue seemed quite bizzare at the time, with lots of low post people reporting problems, with the occ. regular also reporting probs. Some forums were very quick to intervene and closed threads or deleted threads regularly. I honestly don't know what the solutions were to that situation.

I've only used them once - for my new MTB, used Paypal without being aware of any issues with cards.

Would have rated them good, but now I find out I was diddled out of some sweets they are rubbish.

On the check out page there is a box for any additional information that you want to give.
Put in there 'Please send via Royal Mail' and that is what Wiggle will do. So far for me without fail.

I have to say that I have used Wiggle literally dozens of times this year due to various ongoing projects. Not once have they let me down, and every single time they have delivered the next working day, sometimes with sweeties too.

I always use Paypal, not because of any reports of problems, but because I always use Paypal when I can 'cos I don't like using my credit card or giving Maestro details over t'interweb.

I do check prices with competitors including CR, but Wiggle have always been cheaper for me through the CTC shop.

I sympathise with Wafflycat over courier deliveries because when I was working it was a major headache for me too, but now I can arrange to be in when a delivery is expected.

Tell you what, as a special service, when any of you lot order anything from a compnay that uses a courier, have it sent to me and I will dispose of it. Can't say fairer than that:biggrin:

I've never had a problem with Wiggle on the few occasions I've used them but they aren't that cheap any more. They certainly deliver in double quick time in my experience.

What I have noticed is that if I have a look on Wiggle then I get Wiggle adverts on other sites which highlight exactly the items I was looking at. I find this a bit intrusive.
