Not forgetting that he generously donated another victory in Gent Wevelgem to his team-mate Christophe Laporte a couple of years ago (much to Eddy Merckx's disgust)

I was a little surprised that Laporte didn't mention this in his (otherwise effusive) post-race interview yesterday. Hrumph.

(Checked Laporte's results - surprised to see how few top-tier wins he has. 1 Tour stage, that GW win and another classic IIRC? Yet in any race he's always talked of as a great man to have in the final group, etc.)

Wash your mouth out, he's won Tro-Bro Léon!

The other classic you're looking for is the What are The Scores On The George Dwaars Door Vlaanderen, '23

These are his non-win one-day podiums at WT level

Almost all his best results since he joined Visma in '22, but that coming at the price that he's domestique/1st Lieutenant in most races, not out and out leader. I think he's a pretty decent second card to play in a finale

These are his non-podium top tens in WT one dayers - three in Roubaix, two in the Ronde - that looks pretty useful to me.
