I have seen them on ebay a few weeks ago. I had never heard of them prior to this.

I'm amazed at the 2nd hand prices they fetch. Has anyone bought one for thier kid and confirm how good they are? not buying just curious

They are execellent bikes and as you can see, so much in demand that if you buy one you won't lose much when you resell it.

They are built for kids with small components and without unnecessary suspension to add weight. Above all they handle and ride beautifully.

Superb bikes but yes, they're not cheap either new or second hand. A sightly cheaper alternative is Frog Bikes. My eldest has a Frog 69 and it's a cracking bike.

They also have very good customer service and after care.
As others have said, very good, well made bikes.

Yep - I have 3 in my fleet at the moment (deal is that I own the machines that our grand-children have - they get passed on and back to me to sell and replenish as they grow) - have a balance bike, a 16" wheel and a 20" wheel Islabike. All bought on ebay in excellent condition - if people are paying that money for a bike, it gets looked after .. the sellers of mine were all keen riders.

Simply the best! (although Frog bikes are another brand to consider)

Frog bikes might offer decent kids bikes compared to the likes of Halfords and other crappy brands/shops, but they are clearly not up to the same standard of Islabikes - they are a bit cheaper though!
The Islabike Bienn range are excellent and although the appear expensive at first just compare the price to an Adult bike and suddenly they seem to be great value for money. Most people at my club and on Sportive rides typically spend £500 - £4000 on a bike so why should £200 or £350 seem expensive???

Dunno about you, but I think the chances of me outgrowing my road bike in 6 - 12 months are pretty slim

Having said that, Kes Jnr has an Isla Bienn 20, and it's been a superb bike. He's now at the point where it's almost too small for him, and I'll be looking to get back a goodly proportion of the initial outlay to put towards his next steed.

I've had a couple, and if I'd discovered them earlier I would have had more of them. Brilliant bikes especially I comparison to the other competitors a few years ago, some of the other brands are beginning to realise that some parents want something better than the toy bike, so there are Frog, and Dawes have brought out a lighter range recently. They put thought into the design rather than just making a smaller version of a adult bike and then painting it pink. And yes I did resell for a large proportion of the price I paid new, and I could have made more if I had put it on eBay.

Another Islabikes fan here

Bought my son a Beinn 20 small in april for his fifth birthday and its great, so light compared to the Halfords bikes his mates have got. Consequently he can ride faster and further. I took him out for a ride last week and although i didnt plan on it we ended up doing over 10 miles. I very much doubt he would have managed it on a heavy kids bike from halfords.
Cheers
