issues with rubber leg grippers

hello has anyone removed the rubber thread grippers from the end of their cycling shorts,got new shorts today great fit very comfortable padding but the leg grippers are biting into my legs,im wondering if anyone has removed this rubber thread and will it cause issues with the shorts riding up when cycling,they seem to be tight enough that they might stay put without the thread thankyou

The whole point is for them to grip and not let the shorts ride up.
The shorts wil stretch as you use them so I would suggest leaving it for a few rides and only remove it if it's really uncomfortable or if it's giving you blisters.

Sounds as though the shorts are too tight.

Did you wash them before wearing? .. I always wash new clothing to remove the as new stiffness before wearing them, might help a little
