Do any of you use those little lanyards to hang the binos round your neck when you take them off?
I perch them on top of my head, and then spend 10 minutes looking for them! That's an example of the memory problem ...

Even more annoying was the last time that I was looking for the glasses - I wanted to wear them to search for a pen which I had been using on my cryptic crossword puzzle and had mislaid. It turned out that the pen was on top of my right ear!

I've always got a pencil behind my ear at work, so much so that I don't really notice it. If I'm on a beach, I do the same while I do crosswords. Just one time I forgot, and found myself swimming out in the sea at Budleigh Salterton with a pencil still behind my ear...

52 for me & glasses. I first noticed it when I was tired, and couldn't be bothered to focus on the food I was eating. But I still try to do as much as I can without glasses, as I'm aware that my focusing gets lazy if I leave the glasses on too long: I assume that the brain is readjusting the brain's focusing app to allow for the glasses. I can still read the mobile phone without them, but I've started taking glasses on my jersey pcket on rides, just in case. Bah.

Me too.

People don't usually ask if I need help but one time I was trying to sort out a puncture and a passing rider slowed down and asked if I was ok. I thanked him and said that I was, but immediately realised that I WASN'T and called him back. There was a small piece of glass embedded in my tyre. I could feel it with my finger but was struggling to see it to dig it out. He extracted it for me in a matter of seconds. I started carrying an old pair of reading glasses in with my tools after that.

Glasses for distance since I was a child. Which I now have to take off to read. My dad is 80 and still manages like this.
My right eye was only ever very slightly short sighted and as my near vision has started to go, my right eye distance vision appears to have corrected itself. Things are still changing though.
I will wait until my eyes have decided which version of middle aged crapness they are going to settle on before splashing out on varifocals.

Aged 21/22 I went to the Doctors as I was getting regular headaches...........result was a pair of glasses for reading.
By the age of 35 I was wearing varifocals as I need them for distance as well.
I have noticed that I only need them while I am awake........when I am asleep I am OK........can't figure that one out.
