Italian bottom brackets coming undone

Had the great experience for the 3 rd time in about 5 years of a drive side bottom bracket cup loosening on a ride , when it happened the first time my lbs told me it's quite common and the easiest repair was to fit a threadless unit in its place and that is what i have done the 2 previous times ?

Any other ideas or suggestions ?

Italian bottom brackets have a right hand thread for both cups so the drive side has a tendency to come loose. Bitd this was solved by brute force tightening :smile:

I have seen this referred to as RFT..Really Flipping Tight.

I have the same problem with the cup on one of my Pugs which has a french threaded BB. I added a bit of threadlock and then did it up real bastard tight, has held tight since then and I've done about 2k miles on it. You don't really have much other option unfortunately as has already been said above!!
