Lycra does not look good when you're covered in hair.
This is very true.

Don't be under the false illusion that lycra looks good with shaved legs either!

I have no opinion on other men's legs. Shaving, if you choose to do it, is a practical issue, not an aesthetic one.
It's an aesthetic issue to some people. Not everyone who shaves their legs gets regular abrasions or massages. A lot do it just because the pros do it and other people in their club do it. Some people grow pointy Contador or bushy Brad sideburns, or wear long black socks or yellow wrist bands. If it makes someone feel like a more accomplished or confident rider it's not an issue is it?

Of course there is very little (if any) practical benefit to the vast majority, but that shouldn't stop someone who wants to shave their legs doing so, as long as they don't believe it will make them faster!

Did a bit of research before I shaved them, the main reasons people states are that it helps with massages, it makes road rash heal easier and that it makes you more aerodynamic - I doubt any regular riders get massages or that it makes them more aero, I just do it to fit in

maybe all the other riders were naturally hair free and behind your back they were pointing and laughing at your shaving rash :stop: . surely it can't make that much difference and if it does where do you stop ? waxing eyebrows ? polishing shoes ? waxing helmet - bike helmet? - shaving arms ? don't think it would be for me - its only a stones throw away from selotaping your ears back !!!
