Well I finally got the beast out of the box and put it together and I must agree Marin frames are on the big side , but it rides well and its not as heavy as I thought in fact not heavy at all cos last bike I rode was steel so this is great.
Gonna ride it a few days and keep an eye on stuff and dial in anything that's out discs rubbing a tiny bit but they're new so I'll let em bed in a day or two all in all though I'm chuffed so thanks guys for showing me this one

Think I'll be changing the bar grips I'm not a big fan of the stock rubber ones tbh , but I can live with em till I find a pair that suit till then

Congrats on the bike, hope you are enjoying it!

If you don't like the grips, replace them as soon as you can -I had a bike with grips I just didn't like and couldn't be bothered to change them. Eventually got around to changing them... and lo! what a difference. I couldn't believe such a small part could make the feel of a bike feel so much better for me. Taught me a lesson of penny wise pound foolish on that one.

The problem is grips are very individual.....Some people like narrow, hard, others like fatter, chunkier with thick gel. It is really up to you! On the bright side, grips are usually one of the cheapest components so at least you will probably be able to experiment a little bit. Have you used a particular brand and style before that you liked?
