Well you may not be one that goes, then again...... I would go for it.

Got my CTW coming up again, but have the same issues about potential redundancies.... I would but the "boss at home" is saying no at the moment (got enough bikes).

Depending on the scheme your request might cost the company little or nothing (except the hassle for operating it).

IF you did get made redundant (which I sincerely hope not) the company may well write off the bike on its book for tax and practical reasons and let you keep it (for nothing or for a heavily depreciated price).

I'm sorry to hear this DJ, something you may want to consider is worst case scenario and you do go the remainder of the loan will be required from your final salary payments and this might not be ideal for you !?.

I really hope you dont get made redundant but honestly if it were me I wouldnt IMHO unless its something you could afford regardless, as thats how I would look at it.

I'd hold off personally until you know for sure if you are one of the unlucky ones,no point committing to anything financially that you may struggle to pay back.
We are expecting an announcement tomorrow about our lay-off's,union meeting been called for the morning, fingers crossed again,3rd time this in 18 months:sad:

If you don't want to pay it back, you can always walk away, leaving the company with the bike, surely?

Hi BM the contract minimum I believe is for 12 months, you cant simply chose to stop paying and hand the bike back I'm pretty sure

WE either get 750 redundancies or we lose another 15 % on top of the 30 % we have already lost in pay , house already on the market as we cannot afford it .

Tough times; not good at all.

*lighter note* fossy, can you not stash one at the velodrome?

How flexible is your C2W scheme? Are the repayments fixed at 12 months? Can you make the loan over, say, 3 months.

Also, what are your employers like? If you have £800 outstanding when they make you redundant, are they flexible enough to give you the bike as well as the redundancy cheque?

You could wait years and not make a purchase, most people are could be made redundant at any time, it's just more obvious sometimes.
