When I passed 2000 cycling miles for the year in early September I set myself the target of 3000 by Dec 31st..... I have approximately 15 more commuting days left at a 15 mile round trip (225 miles) and need another 230 miles.

Might try and rack up some more miles on days off, but not much margin for bad weather...

Are you going to beat your target for the year?

Beat it several times, it was originally 4,000 miles. I need to do 50 miles each commuting day to reach 15,000 miles, of which roughly 11,500 will have been commuting rides.

Wow that's some going!

I reckon I'll add a couple of miles on most days to make sure I get there, If not I will be out until midnight newyears eve getting some last minute miles in

Not even close, I had a modest target but on the 3rd January I had a seizure on the bike and came off it. Finally got back to cycling and commutting and after a couple of weeks of really getting into it I had another bloody seizure and came off again! Not a great year for reaching my target unfortunately.

Missed 2 months as I had to work away and then working weekends when I got back, plus the bad weather at the beging of the year

Not even close, but not being allowed on the bike for a month in the Summer, then again from late September has done me no favours:sad:

Winner.... just been looking through my phone for missing rides (pre Garmin era) and found about 40 miles of non uploaded rides from the last 6 months..... That's took the pressure of a bit

What? I was bored at work

Well done everybody!

My initial target for 2013 was to get back on my bike after last year's illness. It took me 8 months but I finally did it.

I was making steady progress, but then I got ill again. I got treated much sooner the second time round so I only needed a month or so off the bike and then i achieved my second goal of starting riding again a second time!

I didn't really set any other goals for this year, other than to try and keep riding and build up some fitness during the winter so I am ready for a better 2014. That's looking good at the moment, but we will have to see. With luck, I'll start doing forum rides again in the Spring.

Way down due to dodgy plumbs all year then surgery again saw me off the bike for 6 weeks. Only done a handful of weekend rides. Hope to hit 4000 miles though

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I am going to be nowhere near my original target for the year and i doubt i will get to my new revised target this year .
Ongoing health issues have severley knocked back back the amount of time i have had to ride and realizing that my 2 kids are more important than a few extra miles.
My tingling hands still remain an issue but its getting there so i have resigned myself to let this year go and try to get more quality rides in next year.

At 24 miles, mine is not the longest daily commute (by far) but I do ride to work almost all the time. Just coming up to the end of my 4th year commuting and I've beaten my 5k 'target' every year since I started, and mid September saw me hit the 20,000 mile mark.

Rather than try and hit mileage marks though, I go for the longest continuous run without resorting to the motorbike. Did 4 months straight this year, so I was well chuffed with that.
