They can cool down very quickly and become uncomfortable......also on the Sunday rides they are hoping to be home in time for Sunday lunch whereas I am happy to get home while there is still daylight!

But it has to be said to the OP that if you don't ride in a group you will never improve enough to keep up. It is hard going though!
