Mrs Uncle Phil and I reached our 12th anniversary not long ago. (Or was it 13th? I don't really want to know - it'll remind me how old I'm getting).
The first couple of years were rough. We were both too independent, I think. Although looking back, it would have been traumatic anyway, married or not - we were both moving house far too often, in an attempt to both be working in the same town at the same time.
Since then, there have still been some difficult times, but we seem to have entered a period of blissful calm. We're apart a lot, and sometimes for long periods, but being married (to each other) is now fantastic. Well worth going through all the earlier grief for.
Hope that affirms your life, Maggot. Congratulations, and well done.
