I knew there were benefits to living on the Devon coast.

I had my plums disconnected years ago, so its hardly news to me.

I remember the day well. It was not a good time to discover that I have an unusually high tolerance to local anaesthetic..
Snap! And to cap that, I was RAF, being snipped by a Surgeon Commander in (now long gone) Naval Hospital! It did not go well...

Ouch indeed. The screams are still reverberating around the building.

Oh yes, I remember mine to the day, stung rather a lot - the anesthetic didn't 'take'. Not helped by the fact I had to undergo a TWO hour operation a year later (under general as it was a bit of a grim operation) to fix the mess (well remove some of it). Never again.

Stonehouse, Plymouth. Quite apart from the trauma of the thing itself, I had no option but to drive to and from the op. I had a Mazda 1800 estate, and it had an auto box with column shift and a bench seat, so stuck left leg along that and drove carefully back to Camborne!

Setting the controls for the heart of the sun.
Well, plastics have been f***ing up the oceans for years. Now some plastically modified chickens are come home to roost.

And by the time the alarm bells really start to ring, it will be too late.
