After being a follower of F1 most of my life, it seems to have got really boring over the last few years, after watching today's race i don't think i will bother with the rest of the races, why has it got so bad?

Funny, I was thinking exactly the same today. I switched off with about a dozen laps to go when I realised I just didn't care. The cars look ugly, they sound terrible and they're slow.

I think it's because they can't race any more. There is too much strategy, the drivers are being told how to drive and what times to hit. I think this is why Mark Webber retired.

I must agree I won't be bothering with any other races this year.

Over-regulation killed it as a competitive sport years ago.

It was the boy hood hope that it would return to the days of racing. Seena, Prost, Mansell. When they tried!
Personally I tend to follow V8 Supercars more, it's like touring cars but rear wheel drive and a little bit of rubbing.

Just a minor aside. If you name a thread "It's official", giving absolutely no clue whatsoever as to the subject matter, I reckon you'll get far fewer responses than you would have done if you had called it something like "F1 is Boring".

I stopped watching it over 4 years ago for the same reason

It has plumbed new depths in boredom with these awful-sounding, ugly cars, being driven to a predetermined fuel consumption strategy. Aside from the initial dash to turn 1, I didn't see any racing. I think I'll stick to watching Ginetta juniors and touring cars.
