I used to love the smell of Esso Blue as a child. They'd probably ban it now, with
carbon monoxide worries.

Heating still off but it's the bathroom that is usually the deciding point on when it goes on (damp skin/towels), so I expect it's not that far from going on. The fire was lit though last night!

My wife has the heating on. My colleagues at work (well one in particular who has assumed control of the AC) has the heating on. I naturally run warm and have to live in the perma-flipping greenhouse environment. s'why I love my chilly rides home each evening, its the only time of the day I'm out of nesh female (not all ladies, just these 2 of whom I am at least very fond) control of the environmental conditions.

I was staying in a barn in Griddle Valley, Patterdale last week and the heating got put on every day after days of wet and windy walking on the fells. Back in my London flat the heating won't go on until mid December, probably.

I have now started putting the heating on for about 3-4 hours in the evening. Just a single radiator in one room with the boiler set to its minimum and that is enough to slowly heat the room from 15 degrees to 18. After that I turn the system off and the room slowly cools but is still above 17 by the time I go to bed.

I am convinced that what I posted above about lack of sleep, eating cold food, and lack of exercise is true. I haven't ridden my bike for 3 days and felt cold at 15 degrees. I am doing a hilly 50 km ride today and will see if I feel as cold this evening.
