My glasses from last time where okay and just broke this week, I don't look after anything. I bought the sport glasses on sale this week and for me they are better.

Shoes normally are spd compatible, i have used a pair of lidl shoes for commuting for 2 years now and apart from the tongue getting a bit tatty they are still going strong.

I think I might be interested in the lights and the tool kit.

Anyone know if the light set would be suitable for night riding on unlit cycle paths? At a tenner, I'm guessing not

The light set front is halogen so expect about 1/10 the performance of an equivalent LED one

Bought one of their light sets last year for my sons bike and it lasted about 2 weeks before it fell apart. They're also very large and don't throw out much light.

Jimmy the whiskers, why this post I find their gear good value and it works well.

"Rapha and Pinarello are probably the two brands which offer the worst value for money: all the gear, no idea."

Hopefully mine offends the eye of the upcoming short sighted motorist enough to avoid them driving into me! :bicycle:
hopefully. but if they aren't looking they won't see you, no matter what you wear.

Aye. Last time I was hit I had hi viz gilet, three lights up front, three at the back.

Makes the insurance claim easier to deal with, but I'd still rather have the skin I lost, personally. By all means wear hi viz, but *don't* ride assuming you're more likely to be seen/looked for.

Anyone who tries to enter a roundabout *through* the back wheel of another vehicle, well, that's determination for you, I guess.

Had this sort of thing happen to me once, whilst in the US visiting family. We were waiting in a queue to pull out of a side ride onto a busy main road, when suddenly the car that had been sitting behind us for a good 20 seconds suddenly rams into the back of us!

How he didn't see us, I'm not quite sure - Especially as we were in one of these:

Luckily for us he'd hit the tow hitch! No damage to our vehicle, but his was in a complete state with a burst radiator and a lot of bodywork damage.
