Sent the vid to Neil. Here's what he said back:

Very good that, it was a pig of a day, I don't remember what I finished. I rode the North of England Champs on the same course in 1960. There were 3 of us away coming up to the finish Harry Bond, Roy Comer and me, there was a road climb then grass downhill to the finish. I dropped the other two on the climb and was 100 yard from the line when my chain came off, I could have run to the line and won but I decided to put my chain back on, and the other two came by, so I only got third. What a fool!!

It's being streamed on the British Cycling website on Sunday afternoon so I may have it on the tablet while doing bike fettling in the shed (if I remember)

Neil will know Stu Johnson also - I worked with Stu about 25 years ago - he organised loads of CX stuff (you'll know him as well Dan).
Yeah nice bloke Stu. Doesn't race anymore but still turns up to watch from time to time.

A good showing for Yorkshire, with Tom Pidcock taking the jersey (Elite & U23 mixed event)

A friends daughter placed8th, in the Junior Women
Another friends daughter, placed 8th, in the U23 Women

Tim Gould was 3rd, in the MV50 cat!!
Nice to see he's decided to stay competing

Filters apply, you may have to change 'positions' to get the 1st/2nd/3rd/etc.....

It used to be the same, when Calder Clarion (one of the local Clubs, & Barry Hobans Club, when he was home, from Europe) held CXs
http://www.calderclarion.co.uk/history/
They used Heath Common, essentially that; Common land to the east of Wakefield, where it was a mixture of soil/sand/hillocks, as there used to be a Golf Course on the Common
(Heath village is a 'Conservation VIllage', as almost every house is Listed!)

It would be fun & games on Heath Common now dodging the travellers ponies.
