Even my wife cycled to work today. Two less cars on the road today at least

Yeah, way to go organisers. Pick the first day back at school for millions of parents who have enough to deal with getting kids ready after 6 weeks holiday to a new class/school.

Managed it but they could ave picked a better day.

I cycled in, too much traffic, too many ***** on motorbikes and scooters, too many taxis trying to share bus lanes with too many cyclists  limited enjoyment

It was only the usual suspects out in my parish this morning. The roads have gone from light traffic to fairly busy this morning....

That didn't work then!

I would have cycled to work today but, NATO summit, you know... Not sure where that sits on the excuse list :-)

I cycled in, like I pretty much always do. My wife cycled in, which she's doing vaguely 1 or 2 days a week at the moment, but it did remind here, so I guess that was handy.

I noticed last year that cycle to work day didn't even blip the Bike Miles site that cyclescheme used to run (I wonder if that's part of the reason they scrapped it) so I do wonder if it has any real effect at all. I didn't notice a change in numbers on my commute in this morning.

I'm not aware of anywhere near me doing free stuff so todays cycle goes unrewarded :-/ . Don't they know that as someone who cycles I'm entitled to free stuff! :-)

I did, as I always do. Not sure whether the idiots jumping red lights were regular commuters or riding in specially today.

Every day is a cycle to work day. This is just for those who are too fat or lazy or both. It is being promoted now as kids are back at school. They have all just returned from their holidays and parents are back at work and ferrying their fat kids to and from school. Why can't school holidays start in early May and go on until end of September?

You get tax benefits through C2W scheme don't you know, so you can have a new shiny weekend warrior carbon roadbike for almost nothing

Only found out yesterday but for 'Cycle to Work Day' I commuted in with colleagues. 7 of us in the group.
Certainly had a significant road presence when working as a group. I still got the fastest time on the main hill though..:bicycle:

Some of the group were interviewed by a local radio on the subject.
