Is there any way of getting ITV1 HD (available on Freesat) on a SKY+/HD box?

The picture quality of ITV's football coverage (FA Cup and ECL) is atrocious in SD.

It was envisaged that around between summer last year to around now ITV HD would appear on other platforms like Sky and Virgin, unfortunately it hasn't. It's also done bog all about its hours too .

I'm such a plank - I've lost count of the number of ITV1 games I've watched and thought "this picture is complete ****".

In fairness to you ITV HD really should have got their posterior in gear and added it to both Sky and Virgin media by now. It's even on freeview HD but only about 5 people from the BBC R&D department can watch it!

ITV have a habit or changing their minds though so it isn't all on. Unfortunately they are repeating the same films again and again and again too.

People are a bit worried about whether the world cup on ITV will be in HD or not too with how things are going at the moment.

Well they aren't but you're getting Eurosport HD soon, chin up if you like cycling. In all likelyhood ITV HD is one of the channels that will come onto Virgin Media in the next few months, but I think the onus is on ITV to stop arseing around.

ITV SD is crap. The HD makes it watchable. Nothing spectacular just watchable.

April. You're getting Discovery HD too. Very rarely for those numpties it's an official press release too (although that's because they are playing open the surprise presents at quarterly results again)

Anywho there's a third channel "coming soon" in virgin media speak and it's heavily rumoured to be ITV HD. Unfortunately ITV should really have been on there since last autumn but some people think that the charming Mr Crozier will scale back the planned expansion for ITV HD, so from virgin media's perspective it's less of a killer channel than it should be. I hope ITV doesn't renege on what it's said but I suspect it will do . Shame really as with channel 4 selling their soul to the devil and the faff over freeview HD it's really killing non-subs HD off in this fine land.
