It was very difficult at times. I must say that having the bike computer and knowing the distance did wonders for my mental state. I knew the hills on the route but what I overlooked are those long slow rises that the car just breezes along. They are not hills. They are worst. They are camouflaged hill demons!

My legs feel fine. I stretched them just in case. Its my shoulders and neck that are a bit sore. I don't know if this is because we did upper body weight lifting yesterday or if my posture was somehow off. I managed to find the sweet spot in the seat but it is a bit farther back than I'm naturally sitting. Should I more the seat forward? I think the height is fine.

I stopped about 3 or four times along the way for a water break. I'm not confident enough yet to reach down, grab the bottle, take a swig, and return the bottle while riding. I've just gotten back on a bike after a couple of decades away from them.

Overall, I'm elated. I can't wait to do it again in the morning.

The stats:
Distance: 15.8km
Time: 0:59:22
Speed Max: 41.7km/h (I was flying down this one hill, I have to go up it in the morning)
Speed Average: 16.0km/h
Weather: Mostly Cloudy
Relative Humidity: 83%
Wind: SSW 17 km/h

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Well done !

Without seeing you on the bike it is very hard to tell if your set up is close, it could very well be the weights last night , i find these 2 sites helped a lot with fit..

Do not get too hung up on beating your time every day, sometimes will be easier than others and as long as you enjoy it your fitness and speed willl improve naturally .

Keep it up !!

flippin eck, you've put me to shame, thats a great effort.

Cant comment on the position thing, others will help you on that i'm sure but what a fantastic acheivement. I know what you mean about the drinking thing, I still have to "think" about it before I do it too.

I'd be prepared for your time to go up as well as down (I sound like mortgage advert!) dont let that demoralise you, as Cyberknight says, sometimes it all comes together, sometimes you just not in the right place (mentally).

I've not met you before (or if i have i've forgotton, sorry) so apologies if you've told us already but whats the plan, are you doing this every day now?

I'm planning on doing one ride a day for a few weeks to build up stamina. Eventually I'd like to ride in and back every day except Friday. On Friday I'll not ride back due to the Happy Hours and the potential state of drivers.
