and bad puns, I like them too!I retired early, at 55 and have come to the conclusion that work is an over-rated pass time.
I know you're joking, but I left school with no GCSEs and taught myself to be literate enough to get published as a writer. If you have read many of my posts on Cycle Chat you may find the revelation that I'm a published writer somewhat surprising, to which I reply 'that's what sub-editorz is for init'.
No money in it mind...
What the hell is sarcastic about that!
I'm offering you my sympathy.
Last year I transcribed, researched, and edited my granddads world war two diaries into a blog and into two hardback books, both of which have sold about ten copies.
If I may be so bold as to use a modern vernacular, My Bad, as they say in the cities where Mother or "Muvva" is only half a word.

Unreservedly acceptedIf I may be so bold as to use a modern vernacular, My Bad, as they say in the cities where Mother or "Muvva" is only half a word. Please except my sincerest and heartfelt apologies.

Well, i suppose I'm a published writer to in a way. Last year I transcribed, researched, and edited my granddads world war two diaries into a blog and into two hardback books, both of which have sold about ten copies.

I too am locked into a job I now hate. Its awfully sad as 15 years ago, I was actually up early on a monday morning, looking forward to getting into work to start another week. Same job, same people, but what was a service industry has now become a business that has to make money and hence EVERYTHING is sales driven. I've got too many years invested to move, and what is there to move to anyway. I literally now just go through the motions, and not wishing to be too crude, every day, I feel like i'm going through the motions, i.e. picking peanuts out of poo. Hey ho, Its not for ever. Think i'll go for a ride![]()

Are you sure about that? I'm in the same boat, my wife is on a decent wage and I'm getting the standard 65 odd quid a week job seekers allowance. Not that that would support us if I hadn't had a half decent payoff (which is dwindling)well, at least you have a job - I've been out of work since November 2012 and with 2 small kids that isn't good at all. And because my wife earns more than £105 per week we are not entitled to any benefits at all either - go figure!
EDIT, well we do get working tax credits but that isn't much
You work in a bank?
