First time in thirty years. Having a bit more time on my hands recently I thought I might make more of my first calling (which has never really given me up). So from tomorrow until Sunday I have a drawing in the joint Open Studios exhibition at the Castle in Exeter, and more of my stuff at the Unearth Studios in Preston Street. I'm nervous, even more so because I've talked myself into offering 'portraits while you wait' to allcomers. Anyone in Exeter is welcome to drop in to point and laugh.

Portraits while U wait is scary, I imagine. Won't you be mortified if they look over their shoulder and say ," I thought you were drawing me"

Hello Ian!

I'll be in Exeter this weekend for three days and will try and locate your exhibition!

Got plenty of tea and cakes? ;)

Get him to do your portrait and make you good looking. That'll be a challenge:evil:

"Ah! but I'm drawing the inner tube."

More or less finished setting everything up. It opens tomorrow - Unearth opens 10 to 6 while the exhibition is on. I'm going to find a space with my back to the wall for pertraits. This really is making me quite nervous...just remembered - must take the easel. Drinks and stuff for friends at 6 on Sunday as the exhibition closes.

Oh, and thanks for the good wishes. Say hello to the morose-looking bloke in the corner if you pop in.

Yes, that's it. Good luck with what you're planning.

Dayvo popped in today - very nice to put a face to the name. One more day of Open Studios to go, but my work is staying up for a month.

We had a closing party - nothing too wild, though some of the Tibetan horns were sounded. Around 200 people visited over the three days. Not bad for a backstreet gallery. Not sure why, but I'm exhausted.

Hi Ian, I am sorry I just caught up with this thread, too busy cycling

200 people, that is excellent, how many "on the spot" portraits did you do?

My brother is a talented artist too, he can paint his friends in compramising situations he is funny.

I was the one in the family that never got any talents at all ( except for cleaning, I love cleaning  )

Can you link any of your pics please, as I could not see them, if they were there, on the link
