I've lost my gloves

I'm very sad about it.
At first I thought they were lost in the house, which isn't so bad as they'd turn up eventually. But now I'm convinced I've dropped them outside and they will never be seen again:cry:
I've tried the "re-trace your steps" thing, but I have a mental block between seeing them last and wanting them today.
They were last seen shoved up the front of my jacket - my hands got warm and I took them off, but didn't have a pocket (or rather I didn't remember I had a pocket at the back of my jacket). I checked a couple of times that they were still there as I cycled along, but then I came home and I don't know if I checked again or just took my coat off.
I found my jacket, I had assumed I'd find the gloves with it.
I didn't.
Does anyone want to come round and look for them???

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I once left my winter gloves on my bike in the works bike shed and someone pinched them.

You have my genuine sympathies.

I recall when my wife lost her gloves, she was really really annoyed and upset. It wasn't just that she'd lost them but she couldn't replace them. They weren't cycling gloves, they were climbing gloves or some such, and she'd chanced upon them on sale somewhere. Pure luck really but she really liked them. She never did find another pair either.

I lost a red Rohan fleece hat a couple of years ago, I'd had it for about 10 years, and really missed it. It was part of a set with gloves and scarf my sister bought me for Christmas.

This year, NT bought me a replacement - not exact, because they don't do it anymore, but a Thinsulate one that matches. That's my new favourite hat.

The gloves of that set are definitely lucky gloves - so many times I've thought I'd lost one, then it turns up. I hope yours turn up Sandra.

I found my missing glove the other day, barely days after I'd thrown it's counterpart away assuming the missing one was lost forever.
It would be just my luck to find one!
They're sealskins, and I only bought them last month, can't justify buying another pair, but I do need some lightweight gloves so might have to make do.

would happily come up and look for you - but it could take a few days for me to cycle that far and have to be back for Friday when I am going to look at a hole in a canal...

did once find a flask in the grass on a mountain... and have often thought about running a website called lostyourglove.com or something similar to re-unite all those single gloves I have found over the years including the one I picked up and placed on a bench on Saturday morning... and has for hats, single socks, shoes and one or two other (is it less or more) savoury items that go unmentioned...

There is an eco blog who collect odd gloves and pair them up with similar gloves and sell the pairs. If you send them one they say they'll tell you when it gets paired and sold. I was going to send one, and half filled in the form online, but then didn't get round to it. Then I got an email, saying they'd paired and sold my glove....

NT and I have an idea to turn found gloves into purses anyway.

Eek! I'm not surprised, at that price (£60?)
I'm afraid I use Lidl work gloves, which have a long cuff, velcro fastening and slightly padded palms. When it's cold they get a pair of running gloves inside. The whole lot is machine washable and at about £10 all in I'm not bothered about damaging or losing them, although they appear to be completely indestructible.

I would love to come and look but am currently trying to find the matching pairs for the 51 single socks that our son and daughter seem to have lost!

My children can't be bothered with sorting socks - I discovered that they just grab 2, doesn't matter if they match or not. So much for trying to get them to do a job themselves!!!

I once lost a fleece about 2 weeks after I bought it. I ended up going back and buying a replacement as I missed it so much. The replacement has served me through a number of winters now, but I often glance at the area where I'm sure it fell out of my pannier! I hope someone loved it, rather than it simply being thrown away.
