Yesterday i went to test ride a Giant Defy 2 that i have had my eye on for a few weeks it would be my first serious bike since i was fourteen (im 31 now sshhh) after persuading the missus that getting it on a 0% finance was a good idea before setting off i went and did it i bought the shiney new Defy 1 in the rack next to it!!!! hahaha hope she cant tell the difference or im for it! hopefully it will be ready today and i will be flying around on it this afternoon it will be a far cry from the slow old mtb ive been using for the past few months since starting to ride again! Cheers :biggrin:

I pass a Giant store on my commute every day and must admit some of the bikes look very nice.

Yeh i will be keeping old faithful if not only to take on some of the rougher trails along the coast here. 2loose as i am new to this and you have practicaly the same bike ould you recomend a type of pedal for me to get for it??

Pick some shoes you like (and fit) and then pick some pedals that use the same type of clip system. :biggrin:

I use cheapo Shimano M520 clipless pedals in bare metal (£20ish), they are nice and small and allow me to wear SPD type shoes that I can run in if I have to, certainly traipsing around the shops is not an issue.
The pedal thing is very much objective and there are plenty of threads on here regarding SPD or SPD-L and other types of clipless pedals and shoes.
