As long as I breathe, I attack.
Imo, nothing. You've made the agreement now. Besides, I believe that your girlfriend's happiness is more important, given her condition, than yours at this point in time. Get a turbo trainer!

Given the information we have i would say impending fatherhood and not wanting to stress your G/F to much i would do the same as above.

Until mini CK was born i used to take more risks and now if its dodgy i think hard about the choices i have .I can be safe or risk it and maybe leave them to grieve if i get involved in a nasty accident.

I'm not allowed to cycle to work in the snow and ice!

All to do with maintaining the health of the main income provider, i'm told. But it's driving me nuts.

Oooh, that's the slippery slope. Before you know it, it will be more dangerous on a bike in any weather. It's all about maintaining the health of the main provider you know.

At the end of the day, you know how accident prone you are and how risky your commute route is. If you are the kind of person who keeps falling off their bike then she's right. If you are well skilled and everybody else falls off their bike then you are right. If you are worrying about death then that could happen anytime, before or after birth.

Around here, if the snow gets going, the bike is the only way I can guarantee to get home. Cars/buses etc are shafted in queues. Imagine that when her waters break.

If you cycled, you'd save petrol money and that could go towards your newborn.

I get grief all the time about 'cycling in this weather'.
