Not sure what was wrong with him. Magpie was having a go. Can't fly but can't see anything obviously broken. He's now at the local rescue.

Him and big Steven there, were having a turf war over the local bins.

Well done, you've just made Steven even more angry at those Jakey Magpies and he'll be back to finish it! 🤣

Those Corvids can be buggers. I caught one doing some serious damage to a poor pigeon on a lane near us.

Sadly. I had no option but to put the poor thing out of its misery.

I haven't really spoken (meaning text messages these days) to my brother for around 2 years, after without warning he sent me a photo of his 2 whippet dogs 'ragging' a seagull on Lytham St Anne's beach, bragging that they'd 'ragged it'! Also adding it was was probably an old one as it couldn't fly away. The see you next Tuesday seemed to think I'd find such a thing amusing, which I definitely did not! When I replied with 'Is it still alive??!!' he didn't say yes or no just 'I hate them, they are parasites'! Even posting about it now makes me have hate thoughts about him! How frigging dare he say that about seabirds living near the sea!!! The only parasites are 2 hats like him who think they own the place!! Rant over, but it'll live with me forever and he'll get his payback one day...I hope!!

Sadly some people really do lack empathy, they can be perfectly alright in every other sense but that. I had a long term friend/ former colleague like that, perfectly nice fella, except when he was fishing.
He once bragged he caught a gull that tried to steal what was on the hook, it got caught in it's throat or bill...and he guffawed while he told us he was tugging it up and down in the air.
Personally, I tend to accept we're all less than perfect in one way or another so while it was cruel, nothing I can do other than tell him as a friend it was cruel...and move on. You lose too many friends if you banish them for something you don't like about them. (There's probably something about me other people don't like too

Just my way of doing things / opinion

Agree with the sentiment but IMO some things are at best unforgivable; at worst massive red flags for your own safety and wellbeing. I'm all for tolerance, however your "mate" sounds pretty sick; and if animal abuse is insufficient for you to bin them off, where do you draw the line?

While I like nothing more than seeing those who take pleasure in the suffering of others / animals subjected to the same fate, from a less ideologically moral / more practical standpoint what if next time that lack of empathy were to impact directly on you or someone / something you care about?

Best case such people can't help how they are and are really victims of their situation; however it's hard to argue that it wouldn't be better for everyone if they simply ceased to exist.

Nice work

Despite your kindness it still looks indignant; presumably on account of the lack of chips on offer.

It's perfectly happy - it knows it's going on its holidays to that nice place where it gets lots of food and its own private room for a week.

OP, did the gull say something like 'Squark, squark, squarkety-squark'?

If so it was saying 'I can't believe it - they fall for it every time. Put your foot down, I don't want to miss lunch!'

You're not alone. I have people like that in my family... and I've been out with guys who showed their true colours like that. You can't choose family eh? Boils my p***.

It's best to create some distance with those types i find. I mean yes by all means still be civil but we don't need that kind of negativity in our lives 😂😂.
