Another gem donated to Enviroability. We're meant to be having a tidying up day today but I don't know if I can resist getting this on the stand and starting its restoration.

What does the Reynolds label say is it Tourist Model? is that some form of 531ST ? the paintwork looks like it will clean up beautifully

ahhh found this with a google, so it is some form of 531 tubing 👍

Probably one of the few sources of beautiful things from Stockton on Tees!

Yes, I wouldn't do any more than clean up the paint on a bike like this! If you're serious about buying it, feel free to make an offer. Are you fairly local to Ross on Wye?

Agreed re what to do with it.

No not local but that's a nice machine and I will have a think about it

A few more pics... I've had occasion before to remark upon the sexiness of old bike bits, and the Suntour Cyclone derailleur is peak sexy bike bits as far as I'm concerned. The paint on the down tube has cleaned up nicely, but there's some surface rust and the top tube and head tube. Worst of all - this may possibly make a respray necessary - there's a big patch of paint missing around the front derailleur, with more flaking off at the lightest touch. But the tubing beneath looks ok. More research tomorrow, including (with luck) finding the frame number.
