Mikey will back me up on these at it was his suggestion to me, a couple of Fenix L2D torches mounted with twofish lockblocks will provide plenty of light for your needs. On the back I've got a Mars 3 - really bright even during the day.

Hmm those Fenix look good. Do you need a twofish lock block for each one or can you get a double block ?

I do find the priorities of the news a bit odd at times.

I wonder how many people were injured/killed by cars on the days that these naughty cyclists (and I'm not disputing that many can be dangerously inconsiderate) injured pedestrains? And how many were travelling faster than the posted limit at the time?

Well, that doesn't make it right for cyclists to behave like this, does it?

I'm not surprised that lots of anger and frustration is directed at cyclists in general. It's partly because cyclists do cause a lot of fear and alarm to pedestrians, and partly because we cyclists are considered an out-tribe that can be discriminated against.

They give out a really good amount of light and have four main beam settings and two flashing (the SOS flash is too slow and the Strobe flash could well induce fits in oncoming drivers) .You need a lockblock for each light, only £6 each and they are really stable. As far as I know they don't do a double one.

they are just normal torches though like maglights right? tbey are about £33? good? wide spread of beam?

did you watch the video i posted last night? mad cycling

i did have to shout at some lady last night on the towpath, trying to concentrate on two runners wearing no reflective clothing this women cyclist wearing black as well, just came out of no where. Get some lights i tihnk i may have said. and yes i was going slow due to the conidtions.

not sure about the Fenix L2D, they just look a bit too long and clumbsy.

I thought that when I first looked at them but they're not much longer than 2AA batteries end to end and the lockblocks hold them really steady on the bar. For less than £45 (inc lockblock) you get a light that's really well made, waterproof and throws out a hell of a lot of light.

I know a lot of people on here rate the Ay-Up roadie kit as well (£150 I think)

Yes, the Ayups are also supposed to be very very good. I have the slightly shorter Fenix P3Ds, and they are tiny. The disadvantage is that they take CR123A batteries, but they can be had for a reasonable price on ebay.
