I know someone who has been a board director of two of the big mid market food chains and he says it’s been a nightmare over the last 5 years trying to make profits.

Too many restaurants

Paying too much rent

Credit crunch reducing footfall.

Ingredient costs going up.

Generally venture capitalist owners and over leveraged companies.

He got out last year because he reckons lots of these companies are teetering in the edge.
