Well i'm afraid i wont be along for this by the looks of things,i have got some trapped nerves in my back which are making cycling as well as pretty much everything else very painfull to do,if it sorts itself in time then i'll be back on the list, but until then................
Hope you get better soon Chris, and that you can make the ride.

Cheers Eva,i've had it for nearly 3 months now, thought to start with it was a pulled muscle, this past 2 weeks its got significantly worse to the point of unbearable,am currently on strong painkillers and gel from the Doctors but i'm looking at using a chiropractor now, just need to find out the cost.

Any chance it can be covered by NHS? I was offered NHS physio by my GP (pulled muscle on my calf with the pain reflecting at the back of my knee and the glute), but it would have taken too much waiting time, so I decided to go to the club's physio (I would be out of cycling for weeks otherwise).
Are you at least having time off work?

I know! That's why I decided to go with the club's physio. 4 weeks was not an option really!! :headshake:
I think with most back problems, resting it is key.. Maybe taking a bit time off can work better than any physiotherapy!
I hope you get well soon Chris! :hugs:
Thanks Eva,if i take time off work i have to take it as holiday and its a bit too early in the year to break in to holiday time really,i'm waiting to see how the tablets affect me which at the mo i'm spaced out a bit and also going to see if i can get by on the gel rub alone,if i can then i should be ok for work,if i cant then it is time off unfortunatly.Which club what is you used for the phsyio?

A couple of mates & myself rode a large chunk of this ride today, We had to make a small detour after Slapton as the lane under the railway bridge was flooded, not a problem though, we just stayed on the B488 for just less than 2 miles and then turned left and picked up the route less than a mile later. Hopefully the water should be gone by the 17th, if not we'll do the same detour. The route has its fair share of pot holes in places but nothing major. The coffee and cake was good and so was the warmth of the cafe. Hopefully it wont be so bloody cold in March!
