England : Hertfordshire Jays ride around Herts, Beds & Bucks 17th March

I rode most of this route again today, mainly the part from Slapton to Tring. The standing water under the bridge has drained away so no diversion was needed. The route was planned to go on to the A143 from Winslow to Whitchurch before turning left to Cublington, but when I was on it today the traffic was fast moving, so I have decided to cut that bit out. I have extended the route a little after we leave the coffee stop, we now go to Aldbury before heading towards Ivinghoe Beacon (a bit more picturesque) The new route is now 63 miles instead of 71.

Ahem.. It's Wednesday and I'm far from having my bike ready this week (or the week after)! My budget got smashed with still a few -minor, mind you- components to go, like.. wheelset.. possibly? ..stem.. and saddle.. and the odd bits and bobs. Other than that, I'm good to go!

the weather is looking really crap for tomorrow and really don't fancy doing a long ride in the rain.

Two punctures and a broken spoke on the way to the train station, missed my train and had to call recovery

Woke up (or should I say Ian jnr woke me up) at 5.30ish this morning with the rain lashing down.
It's now 9.15 and there is a break in the rain, but skies are darkening again.

Hope the ride went ahead and hope the heavens do their best to stay dry.
