I heard most of the Hyde Park concert and this evening he was interviewed on the wireless. He sounds so unassuming.

It was excellent; not quite Hyde Park but that was down to the small audience and venue. It was an hour shorter than I was expecting, too, going by the Radio 2 scheduling. So I'll just have to sit through the televised version on the red button again .

I spent a happy summer, going around Europe in a horsebox (with horses) and we only had 1 cassette. ELO's greatest hits. We knew every single word of every song. Happy days. It didn't put any of us off ELO.

I didn't like ELO back in the day, I was just getting into music, and the stuff I wanted to hear was the stuff the papers loved to get agitated about.
However, tonight, my foot was tapping.

I go to gigs now where people in their 50s, 60 and 70s are bopping away clapping their hands above their heads to musicians of the same vintage producing well crafted new songs.

This 'Hope I die before I get old' bollox seems a bit silly now, there's no reason why you can't mosh in your 60s.
