After Jess Varnish's narrow defeat in her local Sports Personality of the Year, despite the support of so many here, another rising star has been nominated for an award.

Jessica Booth has recently been selected for the Olympic Development Programme and is a great ambassador for cycling.

As I am sure many people here are locals, please support her and help raise cycling's profile.

Report from her brother tonight that Jess won.

Apparently it took a while to sort out as there was some evidence that some people had tried to vote more than once.

Anyway, thanks very much everyone for your support.

Let's hope she makes it to the 2012 Olympics.
