I wonder what cam the cyclist has. It takes good night time footage, however the roads & pavements are very well lit.

The free publicity generated by a twitterstorm could be exactly what they are trying to achieve by the almost certainly empty threat.

The only difference is that everyone is now a publisher.

The right to take a photograph in a public place is just that, there's no caveat along the lines of 'but you musn't show it to anyone'.
