Hey guys, Im doing JOG-LE this year, starting 9th June and finishing 18th June (10 days). Just wondering if anyone else out there is doing the ride about the same time?

I will be riding solo, so any company would be welcome.

I also have a query with regards to my fitness level. I can do 85 miles in a single ride with no breaks. My daily commute to work is about 30 miles return. So Ive been doing 200+ miles for the past few weeks. If you have done JOG-LE or LE-JOG, can you pass on your thoughts and advice. Thank you in advance. Happy cycling!

Thanks for the link Loafer! It was a top website and I have posted my start date.... Looks like there may be someone starting the same time!

With regards to my fitness, Im happy with the miles Im putting in. Just a little unsure if I can sustain it day in day out for 10 days..... Can you give me some advice from you're experience?

Cheers

to see how you would get on the the miles day after day try a mini tour 3-4 days with luggage to see how you cope with that..and dont thik of it as a long bike ride ..more as a 10 short rides  also only take what you need .. ensure your bike is in tip top condition well before you start... i was not doing it as fast as you first time was 14 days solo ctc yha route ..2 time 17 days as we wanted to do cape wrath aswell

With the cycling miles you have been doing though you will be fine!
IMO doing 85miles without a break is not good(in the sense of doing it over 10 days). You should take a couple of breaks to stretch out & reduce the lactic acid build up & to take on fluids, food etc.
When I did LeJoG (9days)we rode for 30miles(ish) and stopped to stretch out & snack, then we did @50 miles before stopping for lunch & more stretching before doing the final 20+ miles. Then a cold bath with ice if possible. Good luck with it all, its a great achievement:becool:Tony
