Johnson's baby oil

Anyone else tried Johnson's baby oil for lubricating the internals of their Sturmey Archer AW hub gears?

It's a very light mineral oil usually described as "liquid paraffin" so heading towards quite volatile. It also contains 5% iso-propyl palmitate as an emollient, which might dry out and leave a messy residue. I'd say its too light for lubrication; something like 3 in 1 oil would seem about the right weight for this, it certainly lubricates a Mavic freehub well without dribbling away or causing the freehub to drag.

Don't use it on a SA hub, but i do use a few drops to wipe over my Ti frame, leaves the frame looking very nice

It's good on black plastics like car bumpers, mirror housings and trim.

First they press them then they boil them to get the last of it out...…
