Mark Webber would be an excellent choice... he's critical of the industry, he's responsible, has a good rapport with people and he's more than capable of keeping CE in his place as an enthusiastic but biased car enthusiast- the programme then needs balance from someone who would provide at least some credibility towards the journalistic format. CE will always have the stigma of being a bit of a prat at times.

Susie Perry [?], with her 'Gadget' presenter's hat on, would be good as she has never looked comfortable in the BBC F1 link role.

My mum... banned from driving twice in her 60s and 70s... never looked back only forwards, always denied any damage caused... drove everywhere as if she was at Brands Hatch and would never let anything overtake her on a motorway.
Once got nabbed by police doing 60mph driving through Leeds to a routine home visit one day [district midwife] and gave them a dressing down for stopping her- they were so apologetic they gave her the full blues and twos high speed escort straight to the house and a wave as they left- she never told them it wasn't an emergency delivery which they'd assumed...
