Jon Snow on Channel 4 News

Did anyone see Jon Snow on Channel 4's 7pm news last night, he was talking about why cycling is becoming more dangerous than other forms of road transport. He stated the two main reasons are riding up the inside of lorries and riding dangerously.

They did some shots of him riding on the road and anytime he passed a parked car he was right in the door zone, just waiting to be catapulted into the traffic in the next lane.

I saw it, and, to be honest, thought it was nothing much. The concentration on left-turning lorries had some merit, but the level of investigation for a three minute piece was always going to be slight.

As an aside - the woman speaking for Cemex might have slightly undersold her own company - not only do they fit sensors to their trucks, but the drivers are schooled as well.
