Halifax railway station had a footbridge stolen in broad daylight. Backed in, onto the low loader & away it went. I believe they even got a police escort supplied for it, abnormal load.
What I don't get is why you would want to steal a train...it's not as if you could easily flog it on ebay, or take it down to the local cash-converters...!
I can remember trains running on the line but not the station. It does make a nice training ride as part of route 66 now having a nice gentle gradient for about 7.5 miles from Mirfeild to Low Moor.
