Normal 8 or 10 year old is pretty decent whisky in my view; maybe a bit "rougher" than Lagavoulin say, but less than half the current price of the latter.
I have had mixed results with some of the no-age-statement whiskies though. Laphroig "select" is not nice at all and not much cheaper than their excellent 10 which is as good as ever.
Conversely some of the no-age Ardbeg novelty named whiskies are very nice indeed, so a bourbon casked Jura could well be pretty decent

I used to love Jura but I think it went downhill about 10-15 years ago... or my taste buds have changed. It's hard to say. Maybe a change in ownership has something to do with it.

A law student i work with, when asked what their favourite biscuit was, replied "Plain bourbon." I wasn't sure what they meant and after further enquiries, it was revealed that they meant a Custard Cream
