I love the film, for the story and humour of course, but I find the animation is just exquisite.

I got my copy free with the Sunday Times - not that I normally read the times you understand, Viz is more my level.

Never watched it, but I noticed the animator has another film coming out, based on an old script by Tati, IIRC. Didn't he make some film about a postman on a bicycle? The new film's not about cycling though; it's some love story based in Scottishland.

The Tati film is Jour de Fete:

I saw it again on Sunday, it was shown as part of the York city cycle races. Some great bicycle slapstick...

Last night was the first time I have seen this film and will also be the last time. :stop: Each to their own but not for me

You just stick to Emmerdale Farm and re-runs of 'Friends' then...

I loved it again - but I can understand others not liking it. It's a real 'marmite movie'. Agree about the hound. Love the 'fishing' ('frogging'?)!

I was late in last night, and missed the beginning (wasn't expecting a cartoon either) and (due to being tired) fell asleep and missed the end.

Bloke at work has it on DVD, so 20 mile round trip tonight on the bike to borrow it

I recorded it and watched it before. I liked it, appealed to my offbeat side, loved the dog and the sheer weirdness of it.

French Revolutions was crap though. I could quite cheerfully beat Tim Moore to death with a baguette.
