The Trike in my avatar has an electric front wheel kit as does Maz's Dawes 'Geneva' so converting shouldn't be a problem, as for the kind offer I've more than enough bikes to be going on with including 4 Raleighs (an Outlander MTB, a 531 Road Ace, a City 3 speeder and an Equipe) there's also a 1967 Carlton 'Clubman', a Ridgeback Adventure hybrid a Saracen 'Blitz' and a Time Trial bike of unknown make but built with a Reynolds 653 tubeset. Thanks for the welcome @raleighnut As you might see from my other post https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/raleigh-royal.259322/#post-5944623 I have a couple of Raleigh's in my shed which will be collecting dust. Happy to give them away for some 'nut' to restore. Or can post at cost of posting. I would have liked to convert to an ebike but maybe it won't work.
The username 'raleighnut' actually comes from my 1st post on here regarding drilling out a rear brake bridge to accept a 'Sleeve Nut' to fasten a newer dual pivot brake caliper, I pointed out that this isn't such a good idea as there isn't much 'meat' on the tube and that drilling the back of the hole out to 8mm would weaken it significantly. There is a way of fitting one easily which is using a front brake caliper which is identical apart from a longer mounting bolt, this allows you to use a standard 'nylock' nut instead of the recessed 'sleeve nut'.Ok you really do class as a 'nut'! That is some bike haul and I thought I was going over the top with 3 Raleigh's! One day I might have a big enough property to have that many bikes!
