By a colleague...........

Doing 28 mph on the A34 - speed limit's 30  on my fixed into a headwind.

Shame the car speedo is out slightly as my computer was reading a smidge over 25 mph ! I didn't tell him that !

The colleague happens to be a cyclist, but he was in his car !

I triggered the slow down road bends sign today ... but I was going downhill - but it makes me smile when I do it.... luckily I did as just around the bend I discovered they had resurfaced the road and my speed dropped from 30 mph to about 8 going downhill.

But good result on the flat and into a headwind - I could never achieve that!

What's the big do? Doing 38mph would have been impressive. 'Cyclist doesn't quite reach the speed limit' is hardly anything new is it?

Try harder man.

Anyway I'm only trying to lighten the mood.

You are a right miserable bunch in commuting... :becool:

'this car cut me up', 'oh look who RLJ'ed' - boring !

Chill have some fun, all the better when colleagues realise how fast a bike can go. I've out run another colleague in a car between the same two sites before (out of rush hour)..... just proving bikes are quickest !

#1 son has a friend who is a serious rider, he rides with a local club & has just joined a 'team'
He occasionaly joins him on his training rides - With my son on his 50cc Vespa!
Poor lad was most perplexed to discover that his friend could beat him uphill!!

The speed into a headwind bit sounded really impressive until I read that you were on the fixed...not having to lug all those brakes and mechs around is obviously where the performance enhancement comes from

.
Give me a headwind and I'll show you a drop of 5mph normally

What makes you think your speedo is more accurate than the car btw, especially as they are legally required to be within a certain tolerance and yours isn't?

I was unfortunate enough to have to be out in rush hour traffic this morning - went to one place before the traffic built up, coming back, I was against the traffic stacking into town, Hedon Road, Castle Street A63 all past the marina grinning my head off at people in their cars stony-faced...and stationary.

Good job I didn't ride into a lamp post!

My workmate was driving the LGV between sites and said he saw me the other week (before I got sick, lol, so loads of energy that day). He said I was "escaping" the cars that were following me. Its a very slight downhill and a 30.

Ahh 53 teeth into 12. Mega.
