Thing is RM charge the same price whether it is 1 mile away in London or 400 miles to the Highlands that is the whole idea of a universal postal service.

When we had a business we used to get this story of extra costs often for incoming goods. On one occasion we were charged over £50 for a parcel from Newton Mearns ( a suburb of Glasgow). The cost from Glasgow parcel depot was about £4.00 so from outer to inner Glasgow a carrier tried to charge £44.00. After a rumpus we were not charged but a sour feeling was left. We were also manufacturers and regularly sent 25 kg parcels out to a variety of U.K. addresses for no extra cost by parcelforce. I have also had attempts to charge extra for inward delivery to a uk mainland address on the basis that my orderiing and payment address was on an island. On this occasion I was paying more attention to make and sizing of the tyres and missed the carriage charge. Sheer stupidity!
