A bit under impressed with them, slow and sluggish not happy with them.
I have used them am I not able to return them?

You don't have any right to return them I think, so it's a case of hope they'll be nice to you. Obviously they won't be able to flog them to anyone else once used.

Just sell them on eBay as barely used if you really don't like them. You can't send used tyres back to a retailer unless faulty (and yes they are slow and heavy especially the wired ones).
Not sure I'd use GP5000s for London commuting unless very flush

That's fair - the original post didn't specify that they are for commuting use but I now note the post is in the commuting section.

GP4 Seasons might be a decent compromise.

Personally, I would just use Rubino folding pros for commuting if available in the right width

As long as I breathe, I attack.
i got more flats with gators commuting than any tyre i have tried, settled on zaffiro pros for the last few years and they seem a fair balance between all the factors of speed , durability and cost .
Got my 1st flat in maybe 6 months last week when i used to get about 8 a year with gators .

Yep. They’re slow a a pain to change when you get a puncture. Stick to ordinary tyres. Been city riding for years and get around 1 flat per 2,000 miles. I’d rather have decent tyres and do the odd change. Return them if you can else dtch them.

It's always odd how you will find different people have different experiences...
I rode Gators for years, no problems at all barring they can be a bit slippery when new, once the shiny coat has gone, no problem.
I replaced them at one stage with GP4000 or 5000s, can't remember which, didn't notice any difference at all really. Average ride times didn't change ...

That said, had i brought really top end tyres, perhaps I'd have a different opinion...but worked fine for me, minimal punctures, 6k per year cycling all weather's, no problem for the cost.
