This is about 1950 ,
I think this is what my frame may have looked like as a full runner

Hi . Well info I have had re; this frame . Is that the frame may not be a Hill after all , more of a possibly maybe, from what I have received there is not one positive ID to claim it is a Hill Special . A bit disappointed , but ....
.. H Stone has offered to take it back , but it has grown on me .so I will go ahead regardless , it is worthy of a proper revamp , as I live in West London , and it is predominately flat , I think that it would not need to have a drive train on it other than it might have had originally , so I'll go with a single speed . I've got a few colour schemes in mind that would do it justice . I have spoken to a paint specialist , what it needs and my choice of colors it will be around £250 , a lot of prep work as it has got a fair bit of pitting on the the tubing , My work pattern has changed now so I will be able to get to some of cycle jumble sales and start to get the parts I need .
Does anyone know of a company that does custom decals , as it is a no namer now I put my own signature on it ,
Anyway , that's about it for now . I'll begin to get the frame work done after xmas
Cheers Steve

Well that's a bit of a kick in the teeth!
Was Mr hatherall having a bad day? Given those lugs I'm surprised it can't be id'd(?) They look pretty distinctive. It's still a lovely frame and I'm glad you're not too disappointed, at least now you can make it look how you'd like it to be, you could even put gears on it now!

Hiya , I got another opinion on this frame from a Gent some four score years + , he either works or owns a LBS near Wimbledon , he studied the photos in detail and came up with the same assessment ,mid 20s to mid 30's according to him the lugs were hand sawn and going by the frame number 96 A a small I dependant builder
Is say I'll never know who made this , but hey !!
