Pah, you had loads of room..:troll:

I guess that's a particular problem with those cycle lanes that go down busy sections with lots of side streets.

Probably assumed since your only a cyclist you were riding at an awesome 10mph:tongue:
Either did not not bother looking properly(or at all) or just a plain SMIDGAF, either way some form of formal punishment is required.

It didn't even look as if he was prepared to stop at the junction. He's well on the road as the taxi goes past and is only just clear of that!

I'd have been toast. What brakes/pads are you using ?

I hope there are consequences for the driver.
Tektro brakes that I don't rate that much but they are long drop so allow me to fit mudguards underneath.
The pads are just a crappy set, quite a hard compound of rubber. I usually use a softer compound like koolstop.

1. Excellent bike control from Gaz
2. Great anticipation from the lorry in the other lane - a proper professional driver.
3. I hope the driver is punished. If he'd pulled over and apologised profusely, I'd have maybe felt more lenient. But he didn't, so sod him.

I might pop a copy of that onto the desk of the Byrne Bros guy i am working with. The guy in the flatbed behind did a sterling job . the van driver didn't even look from what i can see on the vid. good braking by Gaz .

and in answer to the quewstion about the blue lane- its not brilliantly grippy
