.........get off her bike, let it fall to the floor in the middle of the (quiet) road and walk into her friends house. ;)

Bloke up the road has just driven up, stopped, looked all round for someone to move it off the road, got out of car and thrown it into the hedge bottom.

Girl did not see this, has returned to where she left the bike, scratched her head, then retrieved it from the hedge bottom with a puzzled 'How did this happen?' look on her face.

I had to shut my window cos I was laughing so loud.

How old was she? Old enough to know better than leave something lying in the middle of the road I presume?

I would describe her as being in the 11-13 years bracket.

This is the same 11-13 year old girl that threw her empty sugary drink bottle onto my drive last night as she 'hung around' with her friends on the road.

I saw her do it as I went out on the bike, so picked it up, gave her it back and asked her to put it in a bin, not my drive.

Her parent(s) obviously don't instill the core value of truth in their house because the first words out of her mouth were, 'I didn't throw it...'

Sigh.

Another one for the Jeremy Kyle generation......

I've often see kids do something similar in front of shops. Just drop the bike in the middle of the pavement and walk into the shop..... lord I wish I could do that! ;)

Kids do it all the time at one of my LBS, and leave in right in front of the door, blocking access.

My mate who runs the shop has got sick of kids ignoring the keep clear signs and not using the bike rack, so just walks over them, then the kids go to him for new wheels when they find theirs buckled!!!!

So funny.

Parent(s) are obviously not teaching children action/consequence and foresight.

We've got a girl of about 9-10 on our road that's like that - dumps her bike everywhere, wanders into everyone's house......always getting the younger kids in bother. Can't stand her.....
