It was nice. Inoffensive, obviously filmed with export markets in mind and had a good love interest. Worth going to the cinema as we did? Hmm..... maybe on a very wet Sunday when there's nothing else to do but otherwise I would wait and get it on DVD.

I'd love to know where the Scottish scenes were shot though; we know a Scotswoman who actually works for a Sheikh Mohamed who owns a big Scottish estate.

The guy who wrote Salmon Fishing (Paul Torday) also wrote one of the best books I've read in the last year or so called The Girl On The Landing. Really great book.

That's about what I thought, except I wouldn't bother with the DVD. Had a chuckle at the advert for the Yemen as a tourist destination, can't see there being a rush.

It gets 7.0 on IMDb. That's slightly less that I will turn out for, unless I have nothing else to do. This time, I did.

Ewan MacGregor hasn't been given a decent role since Trainspotting and Shallow Grave.

Agreed (although I enjoyed Moulin Rouge! and I have heard good things about The Men Who Stare at Goats. I think he is a very underrated actor, and Danny Boyle brought out the best in him... its a great shame that they had their falling out.

When I was a student, and had much more time than I do now, I used to go see a film at least once a week... any film. I saw some corkers that way, and some less than great films but they all were worth watching in their own way as long as they had something to say. I only ever walked out of one film... Entrapment. That was truly dire... even with the bottom scene, I have no idea how people find something worthwhile in that trash.
