Ah goody. I'm in an area with limited Freeview coverage so I have never been able to get ITV4. I have a Freesat box connected to the main TV where I can receive it, but not on either of the Freeview only sets.

I am in the same position - Freeview 'Lite' and Freesat but now that I have Freesat, I don't really need my Freeview box any more. Still, I will keep it in reserve in case my Freesat box ever packs up.

After having retuned everything, my box tells me "no video". Why can't they leave the feckin' things alone.

I wouldn't need it either, but my Freesat box is beginning to play up. Watching BBC1 the picture has a habit of going blank for a few seconds at a time, cured by flicking to Beeb 2 and then straight back again. It only does it once after booting up, but it's a pain and it was great to have ITV4 on Freeview tonight.

Because the 9% of the TV-watching population on Freeview 'Lite' who pay as much for their TV licences as you can't get as many channels as you do on Freeview and the broadcasters are trying to improve that situation as and when it becomes technically feasilble***?

I was really chuffed when they managed to add Film 4 to 'Lite' a while back.

*** There are limitations on the bandwidth available, but improvements in compression algorithms mean that more channels can now be squeezed into the same bandwidth.

Missed the first 20 minutes of the vuelta while rescanning the channels on the PCs TV card and simultaneously ranting at whoever had buggered the thing up without owning up to it.

Could ITV4 or Imlach / Millar not have reminded us yesterday? If the program goes out at a different time the next day they always say so, so why not tell us to re-tune?

Same happened on my Freeview box in the caravan.

It worked properly after a couple more retunes, but I did miss all but the last few minutes of the cycling.

As regards ITV4+1, I've seen it on the channel list for the last year or two, but it has never worked.

I suppose it might after the retune.
